About
Bay Village, inside and out

Bay Village Modern is a small, curated storefront on Chairish. We do not sell directly through this site; instead, we use it as a place to introduce our collection, share the stories behind the pieces, and point visitors to where they can buy, ask questions, and arrange shipping.
Our starting point is Bay Village itself. Tucked between the South End and downtown Boston, the neighborhood is one of the city's oldest and most distinctive. Its Federal-era brick row houses, ironwork, and narrow gaslit streets feel surprisingly intimate for a location so close to the bustle of the city. Many of those interiors are layered with warm woods, vintage finds, and saturated color — a sensibility that overlaps naturally with mid-century modern design.
We gravitate toward pieces from the 1950s and 1960s that share that warmth: sculptural walnut frames, clean lines, terracotta and orange upholstery, and chartreuse accents that wake up a room without overwhelming it. We look for items that can sit comfortably in a 200-year-old brownstone living room just as easily as a light-filled loft.
Every piece we list is something we would live with ourselves. If you see something you love, the listing on Chairish will have the details, and we are always happy to answer questions or provide additional photos.
